THE PORTFOLIO COMPANY

This portfolio company operates in the residential and commercial tree care services sector, offering solutions such as tree removal, pruning, healthcare, and emergency services. As part of a larger strategic roll-up comprising 12 organizations and generating $70M in revenue and $14M in EBITDA, the Nashville-based operation (currently a satellite branch) is entering its second year of operations and generating close to $1M in revenue. The business will operate as a standalone P&L with access to shared resources and centralized services from the broader platform.

The Private Equity firm focuses on strategic roll-ups within essential service industries. With a long-term growth vision and a decentralized operational approach, the firm enables leaders within its portfolio to operate with significant autonomy while providing centralized shared services and investment for growth. The emphasis is on partnering with the right leaders to drive scalability and value creation.


THE CULTURE

As a new and evolving branch, there is no established culture currently in place. This role presents a unique opportunity for the incoming leader to shape and build the local culture from the ground up. While operational support is available remotely from the Atlanta office, the candidate must be ready to establish accountability, drive efficiency, and foster team cohesion independently on-site.

THE ROLE

The General Manager will be responsible for:

  • Building and leading the local team and operational structure.

  • Driving sales and developing strategic customer partnerships.

  • Managing day-to-day operations and overseeing crew performance.

  • Ensuring safety, accountability, and operational efficiency.

  • Acting as the main point of contact between the Nashville branch and shared service functions in Atlanta.

YOUR BACKGROUND

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Significant experience in sales leadership (70%) with operational understanding (30%).

  • Experience in tree care or adjacent field services is preferred.

  • Proven ability to build and manage teams in field-based service environments.

  • Strong customer relationship management and strategic partnership development.

  • Familiarity with job costing and operational efficiency drivers.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

Basic Salary: $100,000–$120,000
Bonus: 5% on marketing-sourced sales, 10% on self-generated sales
GM Bonus: 25% of base salary, measured on EBITDA, paid quarterly
