THE PORTFOLIO COMPANY
This portfolio company is a leading home renovation business serving the Greater Seattle/Puget Sound region, specializing in replacement windows, doors, and gutter services for residential homeowners. The business generates approximately $30M in revenue and $6M in EBITDA. The Private Equity firm is building a new platform with this business, acquired in September 2024, and plans to scale it through 5–6 strategic acquisitions targeting $40M in EBITDA. The company has completed over 21,000 installations in its history and retains its founder post-acquisition. It is characterized by a young, high-energy culture with a loyal, long-tenured team and a need for strengthened infrastructure in HR, finance, and operations.
THE PRIVATE EQUITY FIRM
The Private Equity firm, headquartered in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, has an AUM of $1.1B and focuses on lower middle-market buyouts, primarily in B2B services, technology, and niche industrial sectors. The firm typically invests in family or founder-owned businesses with EBITDA above $5M and transaction sizes between $15M–$50M. Known for their partnership approach, they support portfolio CEOs without a command-and-control mindset. With a remote-friendly team and a track record of successful fund closures (most recently a $445M Fund IV in April 2023), the firm is actively growing its portfolio through a buy-and-build strategy.
THE CULTURE
The culture is rooted in partnership and collaboration. The Private Equity firm emphasizes backing management teams and enabling autonomy. Within the portfolio company, the team is entrepreneurial, loyal, and in transition from founder-led to professionally managed. The executive culture encourages servant leadership, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to lead with humility while driving strategic growth. Building trust with acquired founders and navigating integration with empathy and credibility are essential to success.
