A private equity-backed residential services leader is seeking a high-performing Plumbing Manager to take charge of a $7M plumbing division and drive growth in one of the Midwest’s largest and most established branches. With $40M in branch revenue and a full-service offering across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and generators, this role is critical to scaling profitability and elevating team performance in a high-visibility portfolio company.

 

The Role:
As the Plumbing Manager, you will be responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a growing team of plumbers while improving sales performance, technical standards, and customer experience. This is a hands-on leadership role—equal parts field expertise, people management, and commercial driver.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, train, and develop a team of 10–12 plumbers with accountability for performance, culture, and retention
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain top plumbing talent through grassroots efforts and strong industry relationships
  • Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer-first service
  • Partner with branch leadership to align plumbing operations with broader $40M branch strategy
  • Ensure technical excellence and compliance while actively supporting the team in the field

 

What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a hands-on leader who combines technical plumbing expertise with strong commercial and people management skills.

 

Ideal Background:

  • 10+ years in plumbing with technical expertise and field experience
  • Proven success leading a plumbing division of $5M+ in revenue
  • Track record of developing and coaching teams to higher performance
  • Experience driving sales growth, average ticket increases, and conversion improvement
  • Strong recruiter of frontline technicians and proven ability to reduce turnover
  • Comfortable with performance-based compensation models (not hourly structures)
