Associate Director

Matthew Maser is a senior private equity professional with deep experience across the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing and execution to portfolio management and exit. Currently a Senior Associate at MML Capital Partners in New York, Matthew plays a lead role in managing six platform investments across industrials, B2B services, and technology sectors, executing both minority and control transactions out of an $800M fund.

Before joining MML, Matthew began his career in investment banking at Deutsche Bank, advising on $1BN+ transactions across the energy and power sectors. He transitioned to private equity with a strong foundation in LBO structuring, financial modeling, and diligence execution.

At MML, Matthew has led investment workstreams—including diligence, modeling, legal negotiations, post-close value creation, and exit planning. He has served as a board member, driven hiring strategies, supported intercompany restructurings, and led debt refinancings and add-on M&A. Notable deals include StoneTurn, PaR Systems, and Universal Plant Services.

A Penn State finance graduate with top academic honors, Matthew combines rigorous financial acumen with operational execution. He brings a hands-on, solutions-driven approach to portfolio management and internal firm building—having also led key initiatives in CRM overhaul, cloud migration, and origination strategy.

MML Capital is a transatlantic private equity firm managing $1.5bn in assets. The firm typically invests $40–$65m in control and minority equity positions, supporting growth-stage businesses with international expansion ambitions. Sector focus is B2B and agnostic, with a preference for business services, industrials, and manufacturing. The firm’s current fund size is $800m, with US-based investments led by a small deal team.

THE PORTFOLIO COMPANY

Matthew led one platform investment, StoneTurn (global forensic accounting), and executed three add-on acquisitions. He is actively involved in daily portfolio oversight including:

  • Implementing incentive schemes, hiring strategies, and process improvements

  • Supporting M&A pipeline development and execution

  • Serving as an active board member for one portfolio and a board observer for three others

Previous exits include:

  • PaR Systems: 9x return

  • Universal Plant Services: 10.2x return

  • Argyle Security: Liquidation

  • Ability to operate with minimal oversight, executing transactions and managing daily portfolio tasks
  • Experience with US-based middle market B2B companies across a broad sector base

  • Strong execution skills and full-lifecycle investment experience
